In His Strength
I love the truths within the verses of Titus 3:4-7. It is easy walking through this life to believe we will only receive that which we deserve. That it will all depend upon the effort we put in. This isn’t the case with God. We don’t deserve his grace and mercy, but isn’t that what makes how God sees us that much more amazing and unfathomable. God, knows there was no hope or future for any of us without Jesus. God wants to be in relationship with us so much, he wants to love us, protect us, prosper us, bless us with all the good things. The only thing we need to do to receive all the blessings, grace and mercy God has to offer is believe in Jesus and openly declare this. (Romans 10:9)
When you make a choice for Jesus your spirit is sealed (Ephesians 1:13) and no evil can enter in. Yet, we are body, soul and spirit. And so whilst our spirit is fully signed, sealed, delivered through the blood of Jesus, there is still a war for our soul – that is what the devil wants. Your soul is your mind, your thought life. This is just one reason why the bible tells us to renew our minds. (Romans 12:2) The more we renew our minds to the Word of God, the stronger we become to resist the devil and see him flee. (James 4:7)
We must prepare before the battle. An Olympic athlete will prepare for 4 years for one competition. They know without that training they are open to loss, injury etc. We should think this way in the way we prepare ourselves spiritually. We need to put the work in now so that when the trials and battles come, and they will come, we are so confident in our identity and the power we carry through the Holy Spirit, that we will win the battle and be victorious. There will still be a battle and a fight to be had but when you stand firm in Jesus you will be so much better placed for victory.
So take heart, God sees you as righteous, not based on anything you have done, but because of who He is. His mercy and grace are new every day. Stay close to Him. Trust in the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you and be blessed.
